HOME OF ‘PICK YOUR OWN LAVENDER’

“We exist to educate, inspire and delight”

The lavender season is now finished until December 2024.

The farm shop is open Sat & Sun 10am-3pm..Pick Your Own Lavender

Lavender Abbey is famous for its PYO lavender events.  Visitors from all over New Zealand come to our lavender farm to experience the aroma and beauty of lavender.

Come, relax and enjoy picking lavender in sunny Carterton.  Bring a picnic and immerse your senses in all that is lavender.

Every year in January, for the past 12 years, we’ve hosted a “Pick Your Own Lavender” event at our Dalefield Road property in Carterton, just an hours drive from Wellington. It is a ‘don’t miss’ summer weekend event. We throw open the gates to our lavender field so you can pick your own lavender and share in our slice of Provence.

Visit and view our New Zealand grown lavender and enjoy a few hours in the sun adoring the incredible aroma.  Bring a picnic, rug, sunglasses, sunhat, umbrella for shade and relax in the lavender field.

Come and visit our onsite lavender shop ‘The Big Box of Lavender’. We stock all Lavender Abbey quality products plus flower pots and tins, candles, china and linen, cards, gifts and much more.

Our multi award-winning 100% pure lavender essential oil will be front and centre.

Our 2024/25 PYO Lavender dates will show here closer to the time.

We are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day plus 27 December.

Our ‘Big Box of Lavender’ shop is open Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm.

We look forward to seeing you next lavender season.

The entry fee is $5 per person and lavender picking is $5 per bunch.  Plenty of parking and wheelchair access.  EFTPOS available.
