About Lavender Abbey

Jan and Stu AbernethyLavender Abbey is the creation of Stuart and Jan Abernethy. We fell in love with lavender – and its huge range of uses – after moving to the Wairarapa in 2008.

Every year we tend to more than 2,000 plants on our seven-acre property – a job that typically starts in spring and finishes in February when the 700kg flower crop is harvested and made into our award-winning essential oil. Using our essential oil, we make a range of handcrafted products.

The fact they’re made from high-quality, unspoilt lavender grown in some of the world’s best quality soil in the freshest New Zealand air and sunshine.
