New Zealand lavender and Provence lavender farms

While the rain streams down the windows and makes puddles in the paddocks, the temperature is 10˚ outside with a morning frost of -3˚ and the cool breeze pierces my body.

My body is not made for winter, it’s a summer body. I love feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin and the breeze brushing past me, as it races by to touch the next person.

It’s June, with the two coldest winter months still to go. That starts me thinking – what was I doing this time last year?

The place was Provence, the sky was blue, the sun was warm, the flowing rose’ was French, the snails were garlic, the steak tartare was raw, the company was the best, the hill-top villages were steep, the flamingos were pink, the sunflowers were huge and yellow, the lavender was a sea of purple and the French were French.

I was wearing a thin summer dress, breathing in the aroma of French lavender wafting all around me.  I am the luckiest woman in the world at this moment.  My dream was to visit the lavender fields of Provence and here I am with my best friend, sharing my dream with me.

What was your dream come true? Where were you?  Who were you with? Was your dream all you imagined it to be?
